The PowerShot G7 X Mark II has a 1.0-inch, 20.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor that takes high-quality photos and videos. This large sensor captures a wide range of light and dark details, making it great for scenes like buildings in bright sunlight or streetlights at night. With 20.1 Megapixels, photos have enough detail for printing or viewing on high-resolution screens. You can also crop your photos while keeping good image quality. Smooth changes from light to dark help reduce colour banding.

The camera’s ISO can go up to 12800 (expandable to 25600) and, with the DIGIC 7 Image Processor, produces clear, low-noise photos and videos in low light. High ISO settings let you use faster shutter speeds to lower motion blur when holding the camera by hand. You can save photos in both JPEG and RAW formats for more editing options.

The DIGIC 7 Image Processor helps keep subjects in focus and tracks them better, making sure your pictures are sharp and clear, even in low light or low colour situations. It also includes improved face tracking and Dual Sensing IS to reduce blur from camera shake, resulting in clear shots at slower shutter speeds. This processor improves detail and cuts down noise at high ISO settings, making your photos and videos look more realistic.

The Canon HS System uses the 1.0-inch high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 7 Image Processor to take bright, detailed pictures with minimal noise. This system allows for faster shutter speeds, so you get clear photos even in difficult lighting.

The G7X Mark II has a 4.2x optical zoom lens (24–100mm) with a bright aperture of f/1.8 at wide angle and f/2.8 at full zoom. This lens uses the camera's large sensor to capture clear, detailed photos in different styles. The 9-blade iris diaphragm helps create nice background blur with round shapes. You can take macro photos as close as 2.0 inches (or 1.3 feet at telephoto).

The lens has 11 glass elements with special multi-layer coatings similar to Canon’s Super Spectra Coating used in EF lenses. These coatings improve light transmission, protect against UV rays, resist scratches, and reduce glare and ghosting for clearer images.

This canon camera includes Canon’s Intelligent IS, which keeps photos and videos steady, even in low light without a tripod. This system checks camera movement and picks the best stabilisation method for the scene:

Picture Style Options for Custom Images

The G7 X Mark II digital camera has a Picture Style function similar to EOS series cameras. This feature lets you choose from eight preset styles that adjust colour, contrast, and other image settings to fine-tune your photos. For example, use Portrait mode to keep your subject in focus while softly blurring the background, or switch to Landscape mode for sharp images and vibrant colours when photographing scenery. You can pick from eight built-in styles, download more, or even create your own with the Picture Style Editor.

In-Camera RAW Conversion for Easy Edits

The Canon G7X Mark II has powerful in-camera RAW conversion, letting you adjust images right on the camera without needing a computer. If a photo turns out darker than expected, you can brighten it or use the Auto Light Optimizer to adjust the levels automatically. You can also change the white balance for a cooler or warmer look, tweak the Picture Style, and more. Once you’re satisfied with the edits, you can compare the original and adjusted images, then save the edited version as a JPEG.
