Powerful, wide-angle and compact - these are just some of the features of ZEISS Loxia® 2.4 / 25. The Distagon® optical design has been specifically developed to fit the high-resolution, full-frame sensors of the Sony α mirrorless enclosure series. The ZEISS Loxia 2.4 / 25 extends to a multitude of applications.
Despite its compact design, the ZEISS Loxia 2.4 / 25 wide-angle lens offers excellent optical performance that spans the entire image field of a full-frame sensor. Whether photographing landscapes, architecture or even subjects up close on a vast background, this focal length perfectly complements the range of ZEISS Loxia lenses thanks to its wide field of view. This is a new universal lens for wide-angle viewers who want to capture every detail in photo or video.
ZEISS Loxia lenses have been specifically designed to fit Sony α-series mirrorless and full-frame cameras. What's special about it? You can enjoy the combined benefits of a mirror-less enclosure and the creative possibilities of a manual focus lens.
And last but not least, ZEISS Loxia lenses give you everything you need to make high-quality video, including the unique DeClick feature that turns off the "click" of the aperture ring for continuous aperture adjustment.
DeClick function
Loxia lenses feature an all-new feature that "clicks" the diaphragm snap mechanism by unlocking the locking screw on the bayonet surface using the tool provided. When making videos, the difference in brightness that occurs unexpectedly during the change of direction can be corrected continuously. This function can also be used with other video systems whose favorable dimensions allow an adaptation of these objectives.
Precise manual focus
Ordering a lens manually is like creating the image with your fingertips. Ergonomics plays a crucial role. ZEISS lenses offer a wide angle of rotation for precise sharpness adjustment. The changes appear immediately in the viewfinder. The high-end, play-free and easy-to-use focus mechanism lets you play intuitively with the level of sharpness. Accurate graduation in meters and feet as well as the depth-of-field scale is an additional aid in manual focusing.
Virtually distortion-free optics
Dramatic perspectives and a view from exceptional angles: ZEISS's objectives open up new creative possibilities. A distortion would hinder the composition because the straight lines, whose reproduction does not cross the center of the image, would be bent. Complex optical constructions correct this effect, which affects all focal lengths.
High-end metal frame
Perceptible quality and high durability enable ZEISS lenses to be used intensively for decades. The high-end metal finish frame, handy metal focus and diaphragm ring, rugged front bayonet and filter thread ensure an outstanding photographic experience. A special sealing ring on the bayonet protects the junction between the camera and the lens.
Extremely compatible
ZEISS Loxia lenses are suitable for use with Sony Alpha mirrorless E-mount cameras and have been optimized for full-size sensors up to 35mm (24mm x 36mm). With ZEISS Loxia lenses, the aperture is preset manually, enabling the DeClick function of the aperture ring. And as a result: the devices have the appropriate functions of automatic exposure control (A) and manual exposure control (M).
